Low Carbon Transit Operations Program – LCTOP

Residents who live in Mariposa & Merced Counties can apply to receive one free round-trip ticket to ride YARTS. This program is for the YARTS service on Highway 140 only, and is valid for travel on the following dates:

Monday, January 15th, 2024

OR

Saturday Feb. 10 through Sunday, Feb. 25, 2024

(travel can be scheduled any day during this timeframe)

In order to travel for free, residents must send a completed application (linked below) along with proof of address (driver’s license, utility bill, etc.) to [email protected]. Proof of residency must be provided to receive tickets. Once residence is verified, a voucher number will be issued to the applicant which can be used to make online reservations using the YARTS Reservation System. Requests will be processed in the order of which they are received, and will be fulfilled until all tickets have been issued or funding has been exhausted.

  • Cancellations will not be refunded or rescheduled.
  • This promotion is open to Merced and Mariposa County residents.
  • Merced/Mariposa County residents may apply for one (1) free round-trip ticket voucher. 
  • Residents can obtain the form on the YARTS website, www.yarts.com, or in-person at the YARTS Administration office, 357 W. 18th Street, Merced, CA 95340.
  • Completed applications may be returned via email, [email protected], or in-person at the YARTS Administration office, 357 W. 18th Street, Merced, CA 95340.
  • All completed applications must include proof of residency.
  • Eligible participants will be issued a voucher code, as well as instructions for redeeming the code for a travel reservation using the online reservation system.
  • Applicants will be required to select one of the following travel dates/time frames:
      • Monday, January 15th

OR

      • Saturday Feb. 10 through Sunday, Feb. 25 (travel can be scheduled any day during this timeframe)
  • If assistance is needed at any time, please contact YARTS Administrative staff at 209-723-3100.
  • Applications will be processed on a first come first served basis and are subject to available funding.
  • Program will end when all tickets have been issued and/or when funding has been exhausted. Quantities are limited.
