Seniors, (aged 62+) and veterans are eligible for a reduced fare. A valid ID is required.

Children

Children 5 & under ride for free! One child (aged 6-12) rides free with a paid adult fare. Additional children (aged 6-17) are eligible for a reduced fare.

Commuter Passes - Highway 140 Only

Hwy 140 Commuter Pass Price Schedule

YARTS Commuter Passes are non-refundable and non-transferrable. Prices shown include $1 surcharge to mitigate increased costs for fuel.

Monthly PASS: Valid for 31 days

Can be purchased using the online reservation system. Can be used to make reservations for pickup and drop off using the online reservation system.

10 Round-Trip: expires after 90 days

Can be purchased on the bus or in-person at the YARTS Administration office: 357 W. 18th Street, Merced, CA 95340

Terms & conditions

Tickets and reservations are non-transferable. YARTS fares include a non-refundable $2.50 convenience fee per ticket for all online transactions. Fares are payable in US dollars. Please arrive 15 minutes prior to your reserved departure. Passengers that do not arrive on time for their scheduled reservation will be considered a no-show and forfeit their reservation. YARTS reserves the right to sell reserved seats of no-show passengers. Tickets purchased online are redeemable only on YARTS bus service. YARTS will not be held responsible for lost or stolen tickets. Each passenger must present a valid government issued identification. Schedules and services are subject to change without notice. Actual arrival/departure times may vary from scheduled times due to traffic, weather, or other unpredictable circumstances beyond the carrier’s control. YARTS will not be held liable for delays or cancellations due to breakdowns, missed runs, missed stops, weather, or other conditions beyond the carrier’s control. YARTS is not liable for any expense incurred by the passenger, including alternate travel arrangements, lodging, meals, or any other expenses not specifically mentioned, due to delayed or cancelled service resulting from breakdowns, missed runs, missed stops, natural disasters, park closures, inclement weather, boarding of the incorrect bus, passengers who miss scheduled service or any event which requires us to alter our schedule. YARTS is not liable for any passenger belongings that become lost or damaged during transport.

By booking a reservation, you have confirmed that your time and date of travel are finalized. Under special circumstances only, ticket modifications can be made if requested two weeks in advance. Refunds cannot be completed online – requests for refunds or modifications to your travel can be done by emailing tickets@yarts.com. Please allow up to 10 business days for a response to your issue or for your refund to be processed.

YARTS charges a $2.50 non-refundable convenience fee per ticket (one-way) or $5.00 per round-trip. Refunds will only be honored if they are requested 72 hours in advance of your trip. Tickets will not be refunded if the request is received after the trip has taken place. Exception: in the event of a natural disaster or service disruption YARTS will refund tickets if the request is received within 7 days of the event. Please refer to the terms and conditions listed on your ticket.

YARTS reservations do not allow entry to Yosemite National Park using a personal or private vehicle.

Reservation Tips Information

  1. Reservation modifications are difficult and may be delayed, please be sure that your travel dates and times are finalized prior to booking your trip.  Sometimes timely modifications are not possible. 
  2. You may need to disable pop-up blockers to complete your YARTS reservation.
  3. Changes can be made to reservations by creating an account online. Simply go to the reservations screen and click ‘Sign In’. Changes can be made there to passenger names, departure dates and departure times. For changes that cannot be made online through the self-service option, passengers may send an email to tickets@yarts.com to request a change to their reservation, at least 12 hours in advance of scheduled trip.
  4. YARTS will only stop at designated stops; no unscheduled stops will be permitted. Pick-ups will only occur at designated stop locations.
  5. Reservations close twelve (12) hours prior to the departure time of each run.
  6. Fares for children:  All children under 5 ride for free. One child, age 6-12 years old, may ride free with each paid adult fare. Children under the age of 13 must travel with an adult. Children, age 13-17 years old, will be charged at the reduced rate.
  7. Refunds: 
    • Requests for refunds should be sent to: tickets@yarts.com.
    • YARTS fares include a non-refundable $2.50 convenience fee per ticket for all online transactions.
    • Refunds cannot be completed online.
    • Refunds will only be honored if they are requested at least 72 hours in advance of the trip.
    • Please allow up to 10 days for the processing of refunds.
    • Tickets will not be refunded if the request is received after the date listed on the reservation except in the event of a natural disaster or service disruption. These exceptions will be made only if the request is received within seven days of the event occurring.

Special Programs

Low Carbon Transit Operations Program – LCTOP

YARTS will provide free transportation (in the form of redeemable vouchers) to students enrolled in a college or university beginning September 1, 2024, through December 31, 2025, or until funding for this project has been exhausted, whichever comes first. Proof of enrollment is required.
