This year we are celebrating the 25th anniversary of YARTS service! As part of this special milestone, YARTS will be highlighting an important moment in it`s 25-year history AND giving away two round-trip tickets to a lucky passenger every month! This month, we are marking the incorporation of information technology into YARTSโ operations. As a sophisticated and unique public transit service which covers a large and mountainous geographic territory, YARTS utilizes a variety of tools to provide current and prospective passengers with helpful and relevant information regarding their trip.
Although YARTS has had a website since its inception, it wasnโt until 2015 when YARTS launched its first social media accounts on Facebook and Twitter (now X). The YARTS Instagram was added later, in 2020. In 2016, YARTS launched its online reservation system and credit card payment system on buses to make the customer experience more efficient. And in 2018, YARTS added a texting service in order to provide passengers real-time service alerts in the event of unanticipated service disruptions. Finally, earlier this year, YARTS completed an overhaul of its website: https://www.yarts.com/ โ why not check it out?!
In addition to traditional media, this variety of modern communication tools allows YARTS to provide information to both its passengers and fans in a timely, coordinated, and easy-to-access fashion. Have any additional ideas about how we can better communicate with our passengers? Tell us in the comments below.
