When you ride YARTS, getting to Yosemite is stress free! With four routes that connect Yosemite with the gateway communities of Merced, Fresno (summer), Mammoth Lakes (summer), and Sonora (summer), YARTS will get you there safely and comfortably. Below are some of the travel connections that will help you reach Yosemite car free.
All YARTS bus routes connect with each other at the Yosemite Village.
Yosemite Valley

The free Yosemite Valley Shuttle system provides convenient access around Yosemite Valley. Hours of operation are 7:00am – 10:00pm daily.
Valleywide shuttle: This route serves all stops in Yosemite Valley, including lodges, food service, campgrounds, and trailheads. Buses arrive every 12-22 minutes.
East Valley shuttle: This route is limited to Yosemite Village, Curry Village, Pines campgrounds, and trailheads in eastern Yosemite Valley. Buses arrive every 8-12 minutes from 7 am to 10 pm.
Highway 140 (Merced-Mariposa-El Portal)
Amtrak Railroad Passenger Service
Ride the Amtrak San Joaquin Line into Merced from the North or South to connect with YARTS service daily. The San Joaquin Line connects with the San Francisco Bay Area (international airports: SFO and Oakland) and Sacramento (Sacramento International Airport).
Greyhound buses connect with YARTS. Greyhound buses reach Merced from San Francisco, Stockton, and Madera.
Daily flights to and from Merced with direct connections to YARTS.
Merced County Transit – “The Bus”
Merced County’s bus system provides frequent connections to YARTS, which connects at the Merced Transportation Hub daily.
University of California Merced – “CatTracks”
Use your CatCard to ride The Bus to the YARTS stops for free! Board the UC route by showing the driver your CatCard and transfer onto YARTS.
Mariposa County Transportation – Mari-Go
Mari-Go provides curb-to-curb transit in the Mariposa communities. Use Mari-Go to connect to YARTS.
Highway 41 (Oakhurst-Fish Camp-Wawona)
Clovis Transit, Fresno County Rural Transit Agency, Madera County Transit
Numerous public transit services connect into Fresno from along Highways 99 and 180.
Highway 120E/395 (Mammoth Lakes-Lee Vining-June Lake-Tuolumne Meadows)
Mammoth Yosemite Airport is only 10 minutes away making travel to Mammoth Lakes even easier. You can reach Mammoth Lakes from cities worldwide – including New York, Chicago, Houston, and Melbourne. Enjoy convenient year-round flights to Mammoth Lakes via Los Angeles (LAX) and flights from Denver, San Francisco, Burbank, and Orange County available during the winter season.
Eastern Sierra Transit Authority
ESTA operates year-round bus service along Highway 14 and 395 into Mammoth Lakes from Lancaster via Bishop and town trolleys within Mammoth Lakes itself. ESTA also offers service from Reno into Lee Vining, where YARTS stops on the way into Yosemite from Mammoth Lakes.
Highway 120 (Sonora, Jamestown, Groveland, Buck Meadows)
